Channing Tatum once bought new T-shirts for an entire year to avoid doing laundry
A white T-shirt hates to see Channing Tatum coming.
During an interview with GQ published Monday, the “Blink Twice” star admitted he went a full year without washing his clothes and instead opted to buy new shirts every week.
“I hate doing laundry,” he revealed. “Like I hate it more than I could possibly say.”
The 44-year-old said there was one year, either “1999 or 2000,” that he called “the year of the fresh white tee.”
“I don’t think I did laundry all year that year. I just wore white T-shirts that I just bought,” he continued. “I’d be like, ‘I can get, like, two wears out of this a week.'”
Tatum then disclosed that his T-shirt of choice was — and still is — a simple Hanes white tee or “ribbed” tank top. However, he specifically likes the “classic” style, not the “weird sort-of-fitted ones.”
“I always gravitated to just like a very simple, old, tattered white shirt,” he added. “It’s just a classic thing.”
The “Magic Mike” star tends to pair the basic look with either Carhartt or Dickies pants, which has been his go-to since he was 18.
“You can wear them in a disaster situation or you could wear them while you’re painting with your daughter in the backyard,” he said. “They’re just sort of infallible in my opinion.”
Some other items Tatum “can’t live without” included his dog, Cutie, a Polaroid camera, Mezcal tequila and a photo of his daughter, Everly, whom he shares with ex Jenna Dewan.
Although the “Magic Mike” star prefers keeping things casual, he’s had to elevate his style during the press tour for his new thriller.
The hunky actor and his fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, made their red carpet debut earlier this month at the Los Angeles premiere of “Blink Twice.”
Tatum looked dapper in a black suit with a crisp white button-down underneath. The father of one left the shirt slightly unbuttoned and added a white pocket square to tie everything together.
Meanwhile, Kravitz, who directed the film, looked chic in a backless black dress with large cutouts at her waist.

The lovebirds met on set of the thriller, which was initially called “Pussy Island.”
“When you make things with people it’s a very sacred space, and when you’re compatible with somebody creatively it often opens up other channels, because you’re kind of sharing all of yourself,” Kravitz told WSJ. Magazine of casting and directing Tatum in the film.
“I’m really grateful that this movie has brought him into my life that way.”
The “Step Up” star proposed to Kravitz with a massive $550,000 diamond in October 2023 after two years of dating.
Kravitz, the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, was previously married to actor Karl Glusman from June 2019 to December 2020.
Tatum, for his part, wed Dewan in July 2009 and split a decade later.
