ESPN anchors debate whether Travis Kelce purchased Taylor Swift’s engagement ring
The rumor mill is buzzing.
“NFL Live” host Laura Rutledge and sports reporter Adam Schefter had a fun debate over whether Travis Kelce has already purchased an engagement ring for Taylor Swift.
During Tuesday’s live show, Rutledge discussed the Kansas City Chiefs star’s latest business move, becoming part owner of a 3-year-old racehorse named Swift Delivery.
“Travis Kelce made a big purchase recently,” she said in the clip.
“No, not an engagement ring, but it was Swift-adjacent. The Chiefs tight end [purchased] a racehorse named — wait for it — Swift Delivery.”
Rutledge’s quick remarks about a ring prompted Schefter to pose an important question.
“How do you know that Travis Kelce didn’t buy an engagement ring?” he asked, to which Rutledge replied, “I don’t know, do you know?”
As the NFL insider, 57, kept his lips sealed, Rutledge, 35, asked, “Are you going to break some big news here?”
After a long pause, Schefter responded, “I’m just saying you said that he didn’t buy an engagement ring and I’m just wondering how you have that information?”
Football analyst Booger McFarland then interjected, saying, “The awkward silence right there speaks volumes, Schefty, do you know something, Schefty? America wants to know.”
Schefter replied, “All I did was ask a question about how Laura knew he hadn’t bought an engagement ring. That’s all I was doing.”
Rutledge concluded the segment by saying she was going to “go back and rewatch this and analyze” Schefter’s facial expressions.
Earlier this month, sources exclusively told Page Six that Kelce and Swift, both 34, will be engaged “soon.”
However, the tight end’s rep denied that there were any official engagement plans in place.
There has been speculation that the pair — who went public in September 2023 — are already engaged.
During country star Morgan Wallen’s Aug. 1 concert, we were told a top Chiefs exec was overheard telling pals in a suite that Kelce had already popped the question to the Grammy winner.
Page Six also reported last December that the NFL star asked Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, for her hand in marriage.
A source close to Kelce told us, “Scott has been asked for his blessing and has wholeheartedly given it, and Travis has been talking to friends about a ring.”
