Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce from Jax Taylor to end their ‘tumultuous cycle’: report
Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce from Jax Taylor because she wanted to end the “tumultuous cycle they’ve been living in,” according to a new report.
“There’s a lot that has transpired over the past few months that she could not look past,” an insider told People. “This decision wasn’t made lightly but she feels adamant that it was the right one.”
Cartwright, 35, also made the move to pull the plug on their marriage officially in her and her 3-year-old son Cruz’s “best interest.”
It was “a long time coming,” the insider added, noting that Taylor was feeling “mixed emotions” about her decision.
The “Valley” stars were married for five years.
In the paperwork, obtained by Page Six, Cartwright cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and the date of separation as Jan. 24, 2024, one day before her birthday.

She also asked the judge to waive spousal support for her and Taylor, whose real name is Jason Cauchi, and requested legal and physical custody of their toddler, with her estranged husband getting visitation rights.
Cartwright, who was spotted receiving a delivery of alcohol hours after filing for divorce, first announced their separation in February and later revealed she left Taylor because he would drink too much and become “as mean as a f–king snake.”
Taylor, who has been candid about his mental health and anger issues, checked into a facility for treatment last month.
“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast. He has made the decision to seek inpatient treatment,” his rep previously told Page Six.
“This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
The “Vanderpump Rules” star said he was determined to “get better” for Cruz.
