Uncle Sam is offering tax payers some relief by delaying the federal tax deadline to this summer, but you still need to double check when your state taxes are due.
The federal income tax filing deadline has been pushed to July 15 from April 15 to give Americans more breathing room in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. More states are starting to push back their filing dates as well following massive layoffs and business closures. But some states still might require tax payers to file by different dates.
Here’s which states have and haven’t pushed back state tax deadlines:

The Alabama Department of Revenue announced that the due date for individual tax filings is the same date as the corresponding federal income tax return on July 15.
Alaska does not have an income tax.
The Arizona Department of Revenue announced it moved the deadline for filing and paying state income taxes to July 15, following direction by Gov. Doug Ducey.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson extended the filing deadline for individual income taxes to July 15.
The change is not reflected on the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration official government website.
The State of California Franchise Tax Board postponed until July 15 the filing and payment deadlines for all individuals and business entities.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis extended the income tax payment deadlines for all Colorado taxpayers until July 15, 2020. Interest from the due date of the payment until July 15, 2020 is waived.
All income tax returns that were required to be filed by April 15, 2020 are granted an automatic six-month extension, and are due on or before October 15, 2020.
At the direction of Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services extended the filing and payment deadline for personal income tax returns to July 15.
The Delaware Division of Revenue announced the deadline for taxpayers to file their 2019 personal income tax returns has been extended to July 15.

District of Columbia
District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser extended the filing and payment of individual income taxes to July 15.
Florida does not have an income tax.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced the deadline for filing income tax returns moved to July 15.
The change is not reflected on Georgia’s official government website.
The State of Hawaii Department of Taxation extended the 2019 income tax filing and payment deadline to July 20.
Idaho Gov. Brad Little extended the deadline to file state income tax returns and to apply for property-tax relief to June 15. Tax returns filed by June 15 will have no interest or penalty charged.
The change is not reflected on Idaho State Tax Commission’s official government website.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced he’s delaying the tax filing deadline to July 15.
The Indiana Department of Revenue announced that individual tax returns and payments are now due on or before July 15.
The Iowa Department of Revenue today extended the filing and payment deadline for income, franchise, and moneys and credits taxes to July 31.
The Kansas Department of Revenue pushed the tax filing deadline to July 15.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear extended the 2019 income tax return filing due date to July 15.
The Louisiana Department of Revenue says the individual income tax deadline is now July 15.
Maine Gov. Janet Mills extended the income tax return filing deadline to July 15.
The change is not reflected on the Maine Revenue Services official government website.
Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot announced that the income tax return deadline was extended to July 15.
Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker extended the 2019 state individual income tax filing and payment deadline to July 15.
The State of Michigan finally declared that the new tax deadline for individual income tax returns this year is July 15.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue pushed the deadline to file and pay individual income taxes to July 15.
The Mississippi Department of Revenue extended the deadline to file and pay the 2019 individual income tax to May 15.
The Missouri Department of Revenue extended the deadline to file income tax returns to July 15.
Montana Gov. Steve Bullock extended the payment and filing deadlines for 2019 individual income taxpayers to July 15.
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts announced that Nebraska will have until July 15 to pay state income taxes.
Nevada does not have an income tax.
New Hampshire doesn’t collect income tax.
In New Jersey, there is no extension of time to pay tax due. The deadline remains April 15.
Personal, fiduciary, and corporate income tax returns, return payments, and estimated payments, with a filing or payment are postponed to July 15.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo extended the tax filing deadline to July 15.
The change is not reflected on the New York Department of Taxation and Finance official government website.
The North Carolina Department of Revenue extended the tax filing deadline to July 15 for individual, corporate, and franchise taxes.
North Dakota Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger announced that income tax filers have until July 15 to file and pay their income tax.
Ohio Tax Commissioner Jeff McClain extended the deadline to file and pay the state income tax to July 15.
The Oklahoma Tax Commission extended the deadline for taxpayers to file their 2019 personal income tax returns to July 15.
At the direction of Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, the Department of Revenue extended the deadline for tax filing and payment to July 15.
The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue extended the deadline for taxpayers to file their income tax returns to July 15.
The Rhode Island Department of Revenue postponed the deadline for tax filings and payments to July 15.
The South Carolina Department of Revenue extended the deadline for taxpayers to file their 2019 personal income tax returns to July 15.
South Dakota does not have an income tax.

The Tennessee Department of Revenue has extended the due date for filing and paying franchise and excise tax to July 15.
Texas does not have an income tax.
By Utah statute, individuals have the same deadline to file and pay their 2019 taxes as the IRS, which is July 15.
The Vermont Department of Taxes extended the deadline for filing of personal income taxes to July 15.
In Virginia, individual income tax filings are due May 1, and late payment penalties will not be charged if payments are made by June 1.
Washington does not have an income tax.
The West Virginia State Tax Department extended the deadline to file 2019 annual income tax returns for individuals, trusts or estates, and corporations has been to July 15.
The Wisconsin Department of Revenue extended the due date for filing 2019 income taxes to July 15.
Wyoming does not have an income tax.
