Fans poke fun at Travis Kelce’s slicked-back hair at Kansas City Sports Awards: ‘1890s oil tycoon’
He’s got that long hair slicked back.
Travis Kelce attended the Kansas City Sports Awards on Tuesday, looking dapper in an all-black outfit — and causing a bit of a stir with his longer locks.
Dressed in a dark polo to match his suit, the Chiefs tight end paired his training camp mustache with a slicked-back hairstyle that divided Swifties on social media.

“Travis’s hair is giving 1890’s oil tycoon,” one person joked on X (formerly Twitter). “Travis honey what happened to your hair,” another lamented.
However, some were into the neatly groomed look.
“Travis in his rich dad look era, giving off bought a horse named after his billionaire girlfriend vibes tonight lol,” one person wrote — referring to Kelce’s new racehorse, fittingly named Swift Delivery.

Teammate Patrick Mahomes recently revealed that it was Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who convinced the tight end to grow out his hair.
The “New Heights” podcast host, who attended the ceremony solo, was seen leaving Swift’s Rhode Island home in a private jet late Monday night after spending two days at her beachside mansion with friends and family.
A pool party, ostensibly celebrating the singer’s return from the European leg of her Eras Tour, included pals like Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid as well as Jason and Kylie Kelce and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, plus a smattering of the group’s children.
The tight end, 34, was honored at Tuesday’s banquet as the Polsinelli Sportsman of the Year, with Kathy Nelson, President and CEO of the Kansas City Sports Commission, writing of all the honorees, “Together, these individuals and their organizations play a critical role driving fan engagement, awareness and opportunity for Kansas City.”
While Swift was not present at the event, she’s certainly been supportive of her beau. The superstar appeared at 13 Chiefs games (including the Super Bowl) over the past year, often wearing team merch and other symbolic styles.
With the Chiefs taking on the Baltimore Ravens in the season opening game on Thursday, Sept. 5, Tayvis fans are sure to kick off the season with a bang.
