Taylor Russell dazzles at Venice Film Festival in vintage Chanel gown first worn by Claudia Schiffer
Taylor Russell stepped out in an iconic vintage look, previously worn by Claudia Schiffer, at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.
The 30-year-old actress turned heads when she arrived at the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” premiere Wednesday in a 1993 Chanel Haute Couture gown, made before she was born.
The white dress fit Russell like a glove with a corset bodice and floral beading on the busts. The attention-grabbing bottom half featured a large peplum design over a semi-sheer mermaid skirt.
Russell, who is a member of the jury this year, wore her pixie cut with micro bangs and opted for a subtle, rosy glam.
The “Bones and All” star completed the ensemble with plenty of sparkle, rocking a massive diamond ring and glitzy earrings with a pearl accent.
Shortly after Russell walked the carpet, Schiffer, 54, gave her a shout-out on Instagram, posting a side-by-side comparison of the two women.
“From the 1993 @chanelofficial runway to 2024 Venice Film Festival!” she wrote. “@tayrussell you look absolutely stunning ❤️.”
Several of Schiffer’s Chanel looks from the early ’90s have had a resurgence over the last couple of years, from Dua Lipa’s 2023 Met Gala ball gown to Sofia Richie’s wedding party afterlook.
Despite only landing in Venice earlier this week, Russell has already pulled a few vintage looks, including a John Galliano skirt suit from his spring 1995 “Pin Up” collection.
Russell, styled by Jahleel Weaver, looked effortlessly chic in the structured set, which she paired with black slim sunglasses and lace-up, pointed-toe heels.
The houndstooth uniform, worn on the runway by Yasmeen Ghauri, featured large shoulder pads, a flared hem and black buttons.

Russell has cemented herself as a fashion “It Girl” ever since rising to fame in 2019. Although she’s known for her amazing street style, the Canadian actress also takes risks on the red carpet.
The Loewe global ambassador made her long-awaited Met Gala debut this year — and she didn’t disappoint.
Russell perfectly executed the night’s “garden of time” dress code in a custom-molded, wood-inspired corset with red floral motifs. The Loewe gown was finished with a perfectly draped white skirt.
